Terms of use
Use of this site and its free API is subject to these terms. The short version is that you may use and reuse the data freely with attribution, and that you should follow your mosque where it differs from us.
Using the site and API
The site and the JSON API are free, require no account and need no API key. You may use them in personal, commercial, educational and open-source projects. We ask that you do not hammer the API — it serves static files from a CDN, so caching responses for a day is both sufficient and faster for you.
Reuse licence and attribution
The prayer time data on this site and in the API is licensed CC BY 4.0. You may copy, publish and adapt it, including commercially, on two conditions: attribute prayertime.info with a link to the page or endpoint you used, and state the calculation method, because a prayer time without its method is ambiguous and misattributing one is a real harm to a reader.
City coordinates are from GeoNames, also CC BY 4.0, and that attribution travels with the data.
Accuracy and religious obligation
We take accuracy seriously and document our method and its known limits in detail. But these times are calculated approximations of twilight phenomena that authorities themselves define differently, and this site is not a religious authority. For a matter of worship, your mosque or your national authority is the reference, and where they differ from us you should follow them.
Liability
The site and the API are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind. We are not liable for any loss arising from reliance on the times published here or served by the API, or from the site or API being unavailable or changed.
Changes
We may change these terms, the API's shape or the site's structure. Material changes to a calculation method are recorded on the corrections page, and existing URLs are kept stable wherever possible because other sites and applications cite them.
